Agate Beach

This Memorial Day Sara and I traveled to Houghton Michigan to spend a few days.

One of our first stops was at the highway overlook in Hancock. Here Sara poses with our new (to us) truck in the background.

This shot was taken at Agate Beach with a wide angle lens borrowed from our friends. This particular lens produces a neat "fish bowl" effect, distorting the edges. We had quite a bit of fun with this lens over the weekend.

Beach debris. As is typical with most beaches on the Great Lakes, Winter deposits all kinds of things along the shore. Agate Beach seemed to be particularly inundated this year with drift wood. While it made for a great selection of baseball bats for hitting stones, it sure made playing Frisbee difficult.

I pose for Sara as she snapped this picture with the wide angle lens.

Another picture with the wide angle. Like I said, it was a lot of fun to play with.

Sara smiles at me as I snap another photo of her.

Our firends Quent and Christina from Alaska who joined us for our weekend in Houghton. Quent is up to his usual antics it appears.
