Our first morning in the Park we took a day hike in the
Thorofare Pass area. There are not any trails in the majority of the park, and you are free to wander as you please. We spotted what looked like an interesting ridge and began hiking.
Despite the rain which
intervened on our excursion, we had a great time. The tundra valley was covered in late summer flowers.
Sara and Christina managed the cameras for most of the first part of our hike. I patiently waited...... and waited...... for our group to follow.
And then the rains came. We all stayed mostly dry in our rain jackets. Pat quickly rediscovered a hole that he'd torn earlier in the year in his jacket.
Oops, I meant to fix that.

Q&C being
goofy. What clowns.
Eventually the rain stopped on our hike back to the road.
As we waited for our ride the sun eventually was able to burn through the clouds revealing the beautiful scene we just hiked through.
