Summer Part III - July and August

This is Summer Part III, where we show you what we have been up to for the second half of the summer.

At the beginning of July, we went to the Duluth Air Show.

A Mig 17

The prop of a Navy plane

An F-15

The Red Baron Squadron - yes, the pizza guys really do fly! Too bad they don't deliver

The USAF Thunderbirds

In mid July, we met up with Pat's parents for a trip to the Keweenaw & western U.P.

No trip to the Keweenaw is complete without a trip up Brockway Mountain

or Great Sand Bay

The next three photos are of a beautiful sunset from an Ontonagon beach

On the way home, we stopped at Lake Gogebic

Back to Jay Cooke for a bike ride to a great view

The St. Louis River valley

A nice birch tree along the way

A few weeks later it was back to the UP - we can't stay away!

The Misery River - the least miserable river we know!

Misery Bay beach with just the right number of other visitors

Look what the waves brought in!

At the end of August, Sara's Dad came to visit

We had to take him to the ususal sights including Gooseberry Falls (a little dry this time of year)

Split Rock light - never a bad view here

and of course over to Jay Cooke

Sara and her dad on the swinging bridge

then to Wisconsin to see Big Manitou falls

A great view and the end to a fun visit

Summer Part II - Florida!

For 4th of July weekend we went down to Florida to visit friends Brett & Lyn who live in the Daytona Beach area.

Of course you can't go to Daytona without going to a race! Lucky for us, we were able to go to the Pepsi 400!
