An Evening at Enger Tower

In February we thought we would make a little trip to Enger Tower for some evening photography.

Between the spot where we parked and the tower, we saw this little guy wandering the woods.

Enger Tower was constructed in 1939. It stands 80 feet tall on property donated to the City of Duluth by Burt Enger, who was apparently a wealthy furniture dealer originally from Norway. The tower was dedicated to Mr. Enger in June 1935 by Norway's Crown Prince Olav V and Crown Princess Martha. These are the parents of Norway's present King Herald V.

Climbing to the top of the 5 story structure, you get a pretty nice view of the Duluth-Superior harbor.

The full moon was a nice touch.

Looking up the tower.

The top of Enger Tower is illuminated with green lights. I am not sure if there is any significance to the green color.

The stairwell in the tower is lighted at night.

A view of the Duluth harbor a little later in the evening.

We took a shot of the highway interchange everyone in Duluth knows as the 'can of worms' prior to heading home.
